I am an emerging artist with a BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute, working primarily in acrylic, ink, and watercolor on canvas and paper.

My work investigates the intersection of natural systems, chance, and control. Each piece begins with a wet surface, creating a receptive ground where movement and unpredictability are integral to the process. I use plants and found materials from the natural environment as tools to create impressions that reference growth, erosion, and organic structure.

Once these impressions are transferred to the surface, additional layers of color are introduced and allowed to flow and merge. I use compressed air to redirect the paint, encouraging movement while maintaining intentional control over the composition. This balance between intervention and surrender reflects the way natural landscapes are shaped by both subtle and forceful forces.

The resulting works exist between representation and abstraction, evoking botanical forms and terrain without depicting specific places. Through these processes, I aim to create spaces that feel familiar yet ambiguous, inviting viewers to slow down and experience the quiet complexity found in natural environments.
